Now that I am getting a little bit of order and structure emerging out of the swirl of ideas, we are going to be building daily to work on the thing that matters most: renewing our minds to the Word of God!
True and lasting transformation is done by the Spirit of God within us. It's God doing what only God can do.
Not by Might, not by power,
but by My Spirit, says the Lord Zech 4:6
That being the case, we can hardly expect a purely physical, carnal, natural, or of the flesh approach to get the job done. Jesus went as far as saying
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.
The words I have spoken to you, they are spirit and they are life. Jn 6:63
Spirit powered transformation
The Word in us, affords the Spirit of God opportunity to change us from the inside out into who we long to be. Not by exerting our will to do better, but choosing to establish our hearts through giving God's Word and His Promises our full allegiance, focus and attention. We use our will to choose to believe and then, strengthen ourselves in that decision by immersing ourselves in the Truth.
This is Week 4 and as shared yesterday, we are digging into the Truth about God's promise of salvation-given right at the very beginning- in Genesis 3:15.
If we don't know God offers us salvation, or why we need it, how it applies to today or tomorrow, and most importantly, what happens if we reject it, we will not enjoy any of its benefits.
Daily Building
Schellea Fab 50s |
The fasting continues, and here is today's Fabulous 50s 5 minute workout with Schellea. This time it's for arms. These small steps daily building are aiding the process of rebuilding the muscle mass (particularly of us over 50s women!)
That taken care of, let's move on to what is going to fuel the engine of metaphosis for our internal caterpillars. God's Word. We are building here as well.
Assessing The Need
Yesterday, I shared three verses- 2 from Genesis and 1 from Revelation and all three reference the fact that the Holy Trinity had a plan for Redemption (already having seen the Fall, the corruption of mankind and the need for Jesus to have a pure human body, to offer it, along with his sinless shed blood), well before any of anything had come to pass!
Jesus being crucified wasn't an unexpected blow to God's plan , but rather a blow by blow fulfilled enactment of prophecy, delivered down through the ages from the Spirit, via the prophets of old.
From before the foundation of the world, Jesus was the lamb that was slain for the sins of the world (Rev 5:9)
Isaiah 52
Verses 1-12 highlight the promise of God specifically, regarding His salvation plan
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him, who brings Good news,
Who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness
who publishes salvation and who says to Zion,
"Your God Reigns" Is 52:7
Get your notebook and Bible and record Is 52: 7-10
Yes, it is a few stanzas, but writing the Word out long hand is one of the single most effective ways to have it affect your heart. Isaiah is prophesying how God, by His own hand is wielding the necessary salvation, because ALL of mankind had become corrupt through the Fall (Rom 3:23) and was utterly lost and unable to wield his own and save himself.
Is 52: 13-15- right through Is 53 goes on to detail the specific sufferings of Jesus and what they would make available to lost mankind. Write out Is 53:4-6& 10 -12 Reading these chapters and writing out the highlighted verses will help to solidify the knowledge of love of God for you and for me, and for all who will receive this precious gift of salvation.
Take a few minutes to re-read these two chapters and pause to consider what they mean for you personally-and for any of those whom you love.
These are the gospel accounts of where you can read the fulfilment of these promised events.
Matt 27:1-54, Mk 14:1-40, Lk 23:1-48, Jn 19:1-30
We will be visiting these tomorrow as well.
Psalm 22
This is an incredible 'Messianic Psalm', written by King David as he was moved by the Holy Spirit. It wasn't David's personal experience. He spoke of the promise of salvation, provided through the sacrifice and crucifixion of Jesus, the unblemished Lamb of God.
I recommend you read this psalm through today, but we are going to spend all our Word time on it tomorrow, with reference to the gospel accounts of the crucifixion.
I am working to get to a workbook template that allows for easier recording, review and reference to this content. Study guide and work book are in the pipes! The idea is that we are renewing our minds and establishing our hearts in these Truths- NEVER to be shaken again, and always able to stand confidently on the eternal Living Word, and receive ALL that is promised.
Amen!
Blessings!
